Disney World, Sea World and Universal Parks All Add Metal Detectors to Security!

Orlando’s major theme parks have included metal detectors as a security precaution. Walt Disney World placed walk-through metal detectors in front of its theme parks and Universal Orlando began using wand-style metal detectors that lead into their parks and nightlife areas. SeaWorld is now using wand-style detectors as well. Disney has also announced that they are ending the sale of toy guns at their Florida and California parks. They are also banning guests from bringing such items inside the parks with them. Additionally, guests over the age of 14 are no longer allowed to wear costumes inside Disney World, this includes during Halloween.

These security measures come after the federal Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin earlier this week stating they are “especially concerned that terrorist-inspired individuals and homegrown violent extremists might be encouraged or inspired to target public events or places.”Image title
