Forget the Nasal Spray Vaccine

FluMist, the vaccine that is sniffed instead of injected, may not survive despite its popularity with doctors and patients. An advisory committee to the Centers for Disease Control has recommended that doctors return to the old-fashioned injection. It may be more painful, but it’s also more effective, the panel says. FluMist gained wide popularity since its introduction in 2003, particularly among pediatricians. The CDC director will make the final decision on the recommendation.
