Barbecued And Smoked Meat Tied To Risk Of Death From Breast Cancer

Women who eat too much barbecued and smoked meat are more likely to die from breast cancer. 

Researchers interviewed over 1,500 women diagnosed with breast cancer about their eating habits in 1996 or 1997 and then questioned them again five years later.

They found women who are a lot of grilled, smoked and barbecued meats were more likely to die from the cancer.  

And a higher intake of barbecued, smoked or grilled meat before diagnosis was also associated with 23% higher odds of death from all causes.
