The Happiest Places to Live Are…

  The personal-finance website, Wallet Hub, has released its 2017 list for the “Happiest Places to Live,” and California holds 13 of the report’s top 20 cities. Researchers used data from 150 of the nation’s largest cities for the report.

The San Francisco suburb of Fremont, California won the top spot. It features parks, high-rated schools and low crime rates. Fremont also has the lowest separation and divorce rate.

The three California cities – San Jose, Irvine and San Francisco –  followed closely behind.Sioux Falls, South Dakota rounded out the top 5. Researchers looked at 30 factors that dealt with emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community.

Washington, D.C. topped the chart for highest income growth. Madison, Wisconsin rose to the top for having the highest volunteer rate, and Tallahassee, Florida was number one when it came to fewest work hours. Brownsville, Texas had the lowest suicide rate, while residents in Overland Park, Kansas reported getting the highest amount of proper sleep.
